Celebrate the freedom to read during Banned Books Week! Monday through Friday, Library supporters will be handing out free paperback copies of banned books on the Library Plaza from 10 AM to 6 PM.
As efforts to ban books escalate in libraries and schools, defending the right to read is more important than ever. Monday through Friday, Library supporters will be handing out free paperback copies of banned books on the Library Plaza from 10 AM to 6 PM. We invite Brookfielders and everyone who opposes censorship to join us in this effort by simply showing up to assist in distributing banned books.
Banned Books Week is an annual awareness campaign that celebrates the freedom to read and spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Learn more about how you can get involved in the fight against censorship at ala.org/bannedbooksweek.
