Retired La Grange Fire Department Chief William (Bill) Ruting author of will be giving a talk on his books drawing from his research on La Grange and Lyons. Registration encouraged, walk-ins welcome!
Learn some fascinating local history! In this presentation William (Bill) Ruting, author of “Steel Men and Wooden ladders” and “Blind Pigs, Bobby Socks and Saddle Shoes” will discuss the similarities in researching the history of a village and genealogy. Bill has researched his subjects for over six years using newspapers, village documents and historical photos to bring to life the influence the village of La Grange had on neighboring communities and the Township of Lyons. Registrations encourages, walk-ins welcome!
